Goldeneye 007 for the N64 is simply one of the very best video games of all time and that is from someone who is not even a fan of First Person Shooters (FPS). Released back in late 1997 this was the game which made all Playstation owners jealous (me included).Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 00.11.38
This game has everything, a fantastic one player campaign where each level has multiple objectives such as save the hostages and if possible obtain plans for the missile silo! An amazing control system which is still in use on todays FPS’s and best of all top quality multiplayer (including 4 player death match mayhem). Goldeneye was the first console game to offer pc style multiplayer which in my opinion no other shooter has ever matched let alone surpassed.
The variety of the
single player levels is incredible, from a moving train, a missile silo site, a russian army base, a massive dam to an egyptian temple (the game was only loosely based on the movie). All the levels are highly destructible and offer multiple different routes to their completion. Overall I would say that Goldeneye 007 is the best N64 game of all time and the best multiplayer game of all time, must buy!
