What is your first gaming experience?

My first game experience was Sonic the hedgehog for sega genesis, a really nice fast and challenger platform game , omg I loved the pixel art style of that game, and the speed that we can get in the game.

What got you into programming games?

Because I love video games and create stories since I was a child, all my life I have loved all the stories of sci-fi, and fantasy, for example final fantasy was my first videogame saga that I played like a hardcore player.2016-09-14_1605

What development tools or coding did you use?

a.      Our programmer Joannes Peretz use construct 2 for coding, visual editor and a behavior-based logic system, but he develops special plugins and addons to use in the game, for example for the AI (artificial intelligence), or for the Map editor.

b.      And for the graphics and animation we use Spriter a 2D skeletal base animation program a really nice program who help us optimizing the space and resource that the game uses, photoshop and Tiled for create our creature and maps desings.

What hurdles did you have making your current game?

a.      The more difficult one is the time, because at the start of the project, we are only 2 people, and create a metroidvania style game, with rpg elements with a team of 2 was hard, but now, we are solving that, because we have 2 new members, Daniel Otero an excellent GUI designer and Leo Souza and excellent background and map designer.

b.      another major factor is money, because we need to work on other things, so that we can have money to help us to game development, right now we have a game jolt, page, youtube and twich channels, blog, and facebook page, that help us to get money for help the project.72cc39_21ee89ab9041457796316d3ba79755f7-mv2

What other games have you made you made?

a.      In my case I worked in differents game for the company Level Plus Game Studio in Colombia, some games like kitten fall, Faux, linktris, Blast Or Die, cyber dash punk (http://www.levelplusgames.com/games/), and right now I am finishing the the IAnimate workshops of Video game animation, is a execellent page for learning animation for games and feature films.                                                            (http://www.ianimate.net/workshops/games.html), and this is my portfolio. http://f-fman.wixsite.com/portfolio-ffman22/videogames

b.      Daniel Otero made an excellent interactive book for childrens, for help them to have a better concentration and understanding of the physical version of the book. He has a good experience with graphic desing, HCI, and user experience, this is his portfolio: https://www.behance.net/DaniOtero

c.       Joannes Peretz has a big experience of game development and more, you can watch it in his portfolio. https://powerupware.com/cv/, here some words about his experience “Developing a game from stratch with zero experience is very easy to frustrate and would lead the ruin until the determination of understanding the development that Im able to learn my mistakes such as creativity, logic and math, sometimes we have to check the values of computing are more important than imagination”

d.      Leo Souza, he has an excellent talent with the pixel art and with back ground desing in reto style, and newcomer in game desing with a great talent, here is his portfolio in tumblr, http://lifeleo.tumblr.com/2016-09-14_1604

My favourite computer was my Amiga and console the Megadrive do you have a favourite?

my favorite console is my computer, because is my work tool and my best inspiration resource.

What is your favourite retro game?

The Super Nintendo I loved the fire emblem games, the Zelda games and the final fantasy games, that was the games with the castlevania series who inspired me to create this game idea of the Judgement Project.72cc39_e09824f1985b4edeb8e1fe825d279bd6-mv2

Do you still game on the current consoles if so whats your favourite game?

a.      Right now I have just a play station 1 with castlevania Symphony of the night, final fantasy VIII and VII, a Sega genesis with Sonic the hedgehog,  I have a play station 3 with some cool and inspiring games like dragons dogma dark arisen, blaze blue games, and castlevania lord of shadows, and my pc with some emulators when I test some games that I never had the opportunity to play in console, because in Colombia it was very expensive to buy consoles in that golden age of retro games, and I have some cool indies and retro games in Steam.

b.      My favourite game that I am still playing in playstation 1 is castlevania Symphony of the night.

Whats the worst game you have ever played?

a.      I didn’t like the rockman 64 game, because for me the spirit of the platform style of the classics games of megaman lost in this game, I would prefer a 2D verios of megaman of some 3D details in the backgrounds.2016-09-14_1615

a.      I would like to watch interviews with classic game developers, like koji igarashi, Shigueru Miyamoto.

b.      Maybe a Retro Game Jams with special topics, like Zelda style, final fantasy Style, Contra Style.

c.       Other interesting topic reimagine new games in retro style, like imagine Dark souls in retro style, the unchartred games in 2D with pixel art style.screen_shots_1 screen_shots_2 screen_shots_3 screen_shots_4 screen_shots_5
